MOVIE OF THE WEEK-FOLLOWING (NOLAN'S FIRST MOVIE)

So.. Lemme ask you guys a question.. May I?

What would you do if you have $6000 with you???

You would have deposited in bank.. you would have spend it like anything.. or you could even buy a second hand car or your dream bike..

Would you ever dare to make a movie with that money.. or you would.. but no guarantee it would become a decent hit in the box office..

But what Christopher Nolan did was exactly the same..

MOVIE: Following
YEAR: 1998
LANGUAGE: English
DIRECTION: Christopher Nolan
CAST: Jeremy Theobald, Alex Haw, Lucy Russell
Following is a 1998 British movie directed and co-produced by the most famous director of our era Christopher Nolan  It tells the story of a young man who follows strangers and is drawn into a criminal underworld when he fails to keep his distance. Being his debut it was meant to be an inexpensive. The production budget of the film is only six thousand dollars, which makes it one of the least expensive films in the history.

The story goes like this..
A struggling, unemployed young writer who is credited as 'young man'(or Bill as movie progress) starts following people in the streets of London. he chose people random and follow them watching where they go and what they do. initially he had his own rules like "do not follow the same person more than once". but later he could not stick to his rule. finally another guy caught him. He introduced himself as Cobb. He was interested in Bill's lifestyle tells him that he is a burglar and ask him to join with him.

I do not want to spoil the fun.. So i stop here.. The story continues in a thrilling way and has an unexpecting climax.

Being a Nolan fan..I know my reviews would be biased..
Still.. believe me.. the movie is worth watching..
the movie was taken in a non linear plot structure which he later used in his movies Memento,Prestige and Batman Begins.. The movie was shot in Black and White but is still interesting..
the budget is definitely the highlight.. The movie is a perfect example for pure brilliance and direction.. It has got nothing in terms of High-fi technologies, visual effects or tremendous soundtracks but is still a favorite choice of movie lovers all over the world..

I have got nothing else to say.. The movie is excellent, short and worth watching..
Rating:8/10

Er.. I know you would not spend your time watching the movie just because we said you to do so.. So here you have the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes(the most reliable sites)..
